There are so many variables when it comes to the duration of a project; how much prep is needed or how many colors there will be. For example, a 2,000 square foot home may take 3-7 days to paint the interior and 6-8 days for the exterior.

We sure do. Choosing a color is such an important step of the process and can feel overwhelming. That’s why we partner with a color consultant to help in these decisions. When choosing Cutting Edge Painting, the first hour of the color consultants services are free, with every additional hour for the project charged to the client.

The minimum is always two but can increase from there depending on the current surface and the colors to be painted. We want to ensure the true depth of each color that is chosen and will create a plan to achieve each one 

We can and we do. Repairing drywall, wood damage other surface imperfections is a key step in the prep process before beginning actual painting. Having the surfaces be complete and untainted is what we accomplish.

We will create a plan of protection depending on the size of the job and what areas are to be worked in. We move furniture safely to the middle, we then cover the furniture/ items with plastic to protect from any dust getting in. After protecting the furniture in it’s designated area we then move to protect the floors with a combination of drop clothes and heavy paper.

We also partner with a moving company for projects that can come in, pack items and move them to a different section of the house.

The best time of year to paint an exterior can change quickly but the usual safe zones are from March to October.

We do handle wood rot in a variety of ways. We have systems that we use when encountering small scale wood rot; ie some parts of fascias or window trim that are mostly solid but have some weak points. For larger rotting that we determine would be better to be replaced, we have contacts with contractors that can come and replace what is needed.

Sure can. Depending on which is chosen, paint or stain, we then will create the appropriate coating system for the outcome desired. 

Kitchen cabinet painting is a detailed process. We first start by removing the doors and drawers and label them so they go back exactly where they were taken from. We then move to prepping them which can vary in process depending on fresh coating cabinets or converting natural cabinets to finish painting.

Stain and sealing decks are a vital piece to create longevity for the wood. Cleaning the wood is imperative to create a surface for the stain to penetrate. Sealing the surfaces can greatly increase the wood’s life but maintaining it is also important to the duration.

Metal railing painting like iron, is important as metal can show signs of wear or rust without proper maintenance. We use specially formulated products that help fight rust over time, increasing the durability of the metal for years to come.
